Video from the "News in my Backyard" Forum at Quinnipiac University

In September LocalOnlineNews.TV co-founders Lon Seidman and Anna Sava participated in a panel discussion on the future of local news at Quinnipiac University. The discussion was sponsored by the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Duby McDowell, who runs The Laurel, moderated.

Find us on the Roku Player!

Blip.TV is now including us in their channel on the Roku Player, adding yet another option to watch us on your television!  Videos will appear on the Roku at the same time they are posted on our site.  To find us, first load the Blip.TV channel store on your Roku box, go to the search option, and enter the letter "L" with your remote.  LocalOnlineNews should pop up on the first page of search results.  

Roku now has three player options, ranging from $79 to $130.  We like the mid-range unit that sells for $99.  In addition to streaming web content, the Roku also connects to Amazon's video on demand store as well as Netflix's streaming service.  Other services like Pandora are already on the box, and Roku's new channel store promises many more services in the future.  

We are looking for Tivo HD owners to contact us so that we can make sure our RSS feed is compatible with that device.   Our West Hartford video podcast feed is located at http://localonlinenews.tv/wh.xml .

"We Regret to Inform You.."

We wanted to send a note to thank everyone who supported our Knight News Challenge application.  Unfortunately we received word from the contest organizers this afternoon that we will not be making it through to the next round.  

While the news from the Knight Foundation is disappointing, we are excited that some new partnerships in the works will greatly expand our base of coverage in the coming weeks!  We'll share the details with you soon.

LocalOnlineNews.TV's Anna Sava to Speak at PRSA's Connecticut Valley Chapter Annual Meeting

LocalOnlineNews.TV Co-Founder and Editorial Director Anna Sava will be speaking at the Public Relations Society of America's Connecticut Valley Chapter's annual meeting this Thursday, December 3rd, at the University of Hartford.  

Anna will talk about the current transition in media from the viewpoint of a former television journalist who is now working in new media.
