Gary Vaynerchuk Visits Connecticut
By: Lon Seidman, LocalOnlineNews.TV Co-founder:
I had the opportunity to meet Gary Vaynerchuk this evening when he came to Madison's RJ Julia bookstore for an event promoting his bestselling new book "Crush It!."
Vaynerchuk has defined personal branding, smartly developing a web video show that complemented his wine business. From scratch he built a substantial audience both in and out of wine circles with nothing more than a video camera and a passion for wine. That passion landed him on Conan O'Brien, the Today Show, Nightline, Ellen DeGeneres, and a number of other network shows. His business has grown right along with the success of the web show and is now a $60 million company.
I can say after meeting Gary in person that he's a genuine guy who enjoys sharing the practices that made him successful in this space. His video embedded below on advertising ROI is not to be missed and a major reason to consider advertising with LocalOnlineNews.TV :).
Update: Here's a great video of Gary's talk shot by an attendee:
We're Excited About the Upcoming Roku Player Updates
Continuing our earlier discussion regarding watching LocalOnlineNews.TV on televisions:
NewTeeVee has a great post on the changes coming to the Roku box and their upcoming 'channel store.' We're very excited about the Roku Box's new developments and look forward to getting our video content on there as soon as possible. The box is already a great solution for watching Netflix's streaming videos on your television.
Roku added a number of new products to their lineup. A standard definition version sells for $79 on Amazon. We like the $99 HD box. Here's a video from Gigaomtv with Roku's Chuck Seiber:
